The TWINSAT Project focuses on creating high-precision tools for the monitoring and management of satellite constellations, aiming to increase efficiency and reduce maintenance costs. It utilizes the concept of a “digital twin,” a virtual replica of a physical system, integrating data, models, and algorithms to optimize the behavior of satellites in orbit. This approach improves predictions, identifies anomalies, and enables informed decision-making to optimize satellite operations and lifecycle management.
The project is based on engineering practices such as FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) and FDIR (Fault Detection, Isolation, and Recovery) to identify and manage potential failures. It offers benefits like increased operational efficiency, enhanced safety, reduced maintenance costs, minimized environmental impact, and promotes technological innovation in the aerospace sector.
