Apogeo: defining our aspirations
Astronomical and metaphorical definition of apogeo
Starting from the concept we are inspired by, we dive into our values and goals.
Starting with a basic introduction to the concept in its astronomical sense, apogeo is the farthest point from Earth in any type of orbit, whether solar, lunar or satellite. Its etymology comes from the Latin apogÄ“us which comes from the Greek “apògeios” meaning “far from the Earth”.
If we want to address the concept in a more figurative sense, “apogeo” represents the peak, the top, the apex, the climax that defines us in the humble sense, meaning that, as a company, we always strive to improve and get better at what we do. We are driven and ambitious.

Passion meets purpose
At Apogeo, we genuinely believe that a positive environment is the key to making a real difference. We don’t just want our team members to focus on their tasks; we want them to feel inspired and fulfilled as they contribute to something meaningful in advancing technology and connectivity.
While we may not call ourselves a family, we are a united group of passionate individuals, working together on groundbreaking projects, sharing not just our skills but also significant moments of our lives. We strive toward common goals, making every hour spent together truly count.
What do we do in Apogeo?
We are working on building a constellation of picosatellites to provide a telecommunication service for IoT applications. Our goal is to assist our clients (private companies, public entities and institutions) in solving their connectivity challenges, helping them to excel in their respective fields and reach their apogeo. In more concrete terms, we put on sale our connectivity service at competitive pricing, designed to give our clients the opportunity and flexibility to test Apogeo’s technology on a few devices, before expanding it to all assets. Another way to test the functionalities of our picosatellites is by using our Apogeo Shield, compatible with Arduino® and built to be part of a node.
Interesting, but how big is a message?
The payload size consists of 30 bytes comprising:
- 10-byte packet size
- NodeID
- timestamp
The parameters measurable within this 10-byte packet may include: temperature, pressure, moisture, GPS coordinates, humidity and water level. Sectors that can benefit from these measurements are: environmental monitoring, wildlife conservation, oil & gas, renewable energy, logistics, agriculture & farming, smart cities and more.
