A step toward global expansion in space telecommunications
Brescia, January 8, 2025 – Apogeo Space, a pioneer in developing Italy’s first private constellation of pico-satellites for telecommunications services dedicated to IoT (Internet of Things) devices, is excited to announce its participation in CES 2025, the world’s largest technology trade show for consumer electronics, held in Las Vegas from January 7 to 10.
This year’s edition features 46 innovative Italian startups selected by the ICE (Italian Trade Agency) to showcase their technologies on the international stage. Representing the forefront of Italy’s emerging tech sector, these companies span industries such as advanced sensor technology, smart mobility, clean-tech, and healthcare. Apogeo Space proudly brings space innovation to the field of telecommunications.
During CES, Apogeo Space will present advancements in its pico-satellite constellation, designed to provide global telecommunications coverage and a wide array of advanced services, including data collection for agri-tech, logistics, environmental monitoring and support for critical infrastructures. With the IoT market projected to exceed 32 billion connected devices by 2030 (source: Statista), Apogeo Space aims to deliver increasingly sophisticated and high-performing telecommunication solutions.

New team additions: two managers join the global expansion plan
Alongside its participation in CES, Apogeo Space announces the addition of two new members to its management team:
- Juliana MeregeBusiness Developer for Latin America, brings extensive expertise in customer relations and business development in the region, a market of growing interest for satellite telecommunications solutions.
- Mario MerriHead of Ground Segment, joins with over 35 years of experience at the European Space Agency (ESA) and will lead the development of ground operations, ensuring the efficiency and reliability of services offered by Apogeo Space’s satellite constellation.
Juliana Merege holds a degree in chemical engineering from UFRJ (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro) and an international career spanning roles at leading companies in the industrial and space sectors, including White Martins (Linde Group) and Asteroid Mining Corporation (UK). She will play a crucial role in strengthening Apogeo Space’s presence in Latin America, where the company plans to expand its service offerings.
Mario Merri, with a Ph.D. in electrical engineering and an illustrious career at ESA, will oversee ground operations, a critical component for the success of any satellite constellation. His vast experience managing mission-critical operational systems further enhances Apogeo Space’s technical capabilities, positioning the company to support the growth of its global operations.
